“FFFFF/0”, 2008. Video projector, rotating mirror, dimension variable, installation view. Courtesy of Ota Fine Arts.
In this work, I set up a rotating mirror in front of a video projector. This has roughly the same effect as running the video through a prism, separating the light into a spectrum of three fine bars of color: Red, Green and Blue. RGB, it goes without saying, is the three color system used to reproduce picture in television tubes, projectors and liquid crystal displays. “FFFFF/0” concisely demonstrates the system, showing how white is obtained by blending these three colors.
