“Sundial (Paris)” 2022. Set of 12 photographs, Color print, print 24×36 cm, frame 40x52cm.

This is a photographic work created by building a sundial on the ground using objects found on the streets of Paris and photographed with a film camera. The placement of the dial and gnomon, which begins at 8:00 a.m., is pre-determined by the latitude and longitude of the location where the sundial is to be placed and the date of the day. On the other hand, the game cards, mirror shards, metro tickets, broken balloons, bicycle stands, camping mats, water faucets, and baguettes that serve as signs were improvised by the artist on the side of the road. Thus, the inevitable arrangement of the objects, their coincidental combination, and the shadows that indicate the time when they were photographed appear as compositions.
